Privacy note

Threadback is zero-upload and telemetry-free. This page restates that promise and explains the only two outbound requests.

No conversations or queries collected

The extension never collects, stores, or forwards your conversation content, search queries, or usage statistics. Conversations and the index are kept only in your local browser.

Outbound request 1: one-time semantic model download

When you enable semantic search, the extension downloads a semantic model that runs locally in your browser (only the model files are transferred — never any conversation or query): it tries Hugging Face first and falls back to our mirror if unreachable. After download, semantic search runs fully offline on your device; this request never happens if you don't enable semantic search.

Outbound request 2: license check

Only when you actively activate / re-validate / deactivate Pro does the extension contact the license service, and the request body contains only your License Key and a locally generated anonymous device id (instanceId) — never any conversation, query, or personal information.

Payment info never touches us

Checkout, payment methods, invoices, taxes, and refunds are all handled by the Merchant of Record (Dodo Payments). We never see or store your card number or billing address.

We store only three kinds of business data

To issue keys and manage devices, the server persists only the License Key, anonymous device id, and purchase email — never any conversation, query, or usage data.

No third-party tracking

Neither the website nor the extension includes any third-party analytics or ad scripts.
